One of the most worthwhile Wayfarer groups offered by the church is the Men’s group which has served to foster life-long friendships and a fun and compelling weekly moment for church men and community friends to gather and share stories of their lives. Discussion avoids politics and religion, but personal experiences are shared discretely. Come and join us, you will be glad you did; every Thursday, 8:00 am to 9:00 am on a Zoom meeting. See the COTW Waysign to join the group.
Although the primary focus of our Men’s Group is to support and contribute to each others lives, we also enthusiastically engage in community and church service projects. For example, we raised $16,000 for materials and donated many hours to refurbish the Soledad Pastors Parsonage which included installing insulated heating ducts, new double-pane windows and lots of cleaning and painting. We also have tutored children for 12 years in reading, math and science at the East Salinas Family Center, which is a safe space for children outside the Salinas gang area. Other projects we accomplished include replacing our church steeple, which had rusted out, installing a new sound system, a projection system for hymns and Scripture and a video recording system for Sunday services in the church.
